Some addresses are unlike any other. The Place de la Vieille Halle aux Blés in Brussels has been a trading place since 1295. It lies in the Saint-Jacques district — on the ancient pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela — a few steps from the Grand-Place, the Manneken Pis, and the statue of Jacques Brel created by sculptor Tom Frantzen. A silhouette suspended in motion, between earth and sky. A perfect metaphor for the inner movement Sébastien Ledentu seeks to accompany in every session.

Because Sébastien Ledentu is no ordinary hairdresser. He is an energetic hairdresser, practitioner of the energetic haircut, trainer, speaker — and author of the reference book on the subject. Since opening his salon in 2011, he has dedicated his practice to one single idea: that beauty deserves to be cared for in depth.

An author. A book. A reference.

Sébastien Ledentu has poured years of experience and thousands of haircuts into a book: La coupe énergétique — Le cheveu sous l'Âme du rasoir (The Energetic Haircut — Hair under the Soul of the Razor), published by Éditions Amyris. Sébastien and Serge had known Géomer for a long time. And then, at some point, it was no longer quite what they were looking for. So they went to explore other horizons. Other approaches. Other promises.

We hold no grudge. Quite the opposite.

Sébastien does not work only in Brussels. He also receives clients, periodically, in Concarneau — in Brittany — in the former studio of painter Jean-Claude Carsuzan, where Paul Gauguin stayed in 1893.

A discreet connection also links the two cities: Jacques Brel and Paul Gauguin both rest on the Marquesas Islands, just metres apart. Serge told us this anecdote with a smile. It is exactly this kind of detail that reveals a salon inhabited by people who see the world differently.

Two years on — what this partnership has taught us

Two years after 8 May 2023, Géomer products are part of Sébastien's daily professional work and his clients' routines. What is experienced within the walls of his salon now extends into the intimate daily lives of every person he receives.
